What. InputVideo is an import PlugIn for Photoshop that lets you grab frames directly from a video camera connected to your computer.
Why. Adding photographic material to a graphical project is an easy way to add richness and complexity to your designs. But the process of acquiring photographs is long and complex, and typically includes taking the picture, developing the film and scanning it into Photoshop. With this PlugIn the whole process is reduced to one step - point your camera and press a button and the image is imported to Photoshop.
How. You need a video camera connected to your computer, it can be through the AV. port of your Mac or a Connectix Quickcam. connected to the serial port, or any other camera that is QuickTime-aware. The PlugIn shows up in the Import menu, and lets you capture multiple frames from the video. The video can be live or recorded. The PlugIn lets you set the size and scale of the frame, select a mode (grayscale / RGB) and also select the video source Then you can adjust the brightness, saturation, tint and contrast to achieve the best result. Press OK and a new Photoshop document is created with the image. Available for Mac only.
