Finger-Paint 2000

Finger-Paint is an installation I did for the Media_City Seoul 2000. It is intended for children. Technically , Finger-Paint is similar to "Easel" in the way it uses a camera on the other side of the screen to input the viewers brush or hand and apply live video into that area. In the case of Finger-Paint, the kids are invited to touch with their hands a large window,. They can then paint using their hands and applying live video of themselves. Multiple kids can be painting simultaneously Also in the installation is a magic wand. Applying the wand to the window adds a layer of cartoonish illustrations over the video.
